Privacy notice

This notice explains how ELORA handles personal data collected through elora.is, in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Icelandic Act No. 90/2018 on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data.
Who is responsible
ELORA, Reykjavík, Iceland, is the controller for personal data collected through this website. For any question about this notice or your data, contact info@elora.is.
What we collect, and why
| Contact form | Your name, email address, and which category you select. Used only to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to continue a business conversation you initiated. |

| Server logs | Our hosting provider records standard request data, including IP address, for security and to keep the site available. We do not use this to identify or profile visitors. |
| Cookies | This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. If you make a choice in the privacy banner, that choice is stored locally in your own browser so we do not ask again. It is not sent to us. |
Legal basis
- Contact form: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services, and in taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
- Server logs: our legitimate interest in the security and availability of the site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Optional analytics: your consent, if and when we enable any (Art. 6(1)(a)). None are active today.
Who else processes it
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website and processes request data. Transfers outside the EEA are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Formspree, Inc. receives and forwards contact form submissions. Formspree is based in the United States; transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Google Ireland Limited provides the email service on which we receive your message.
Fonts are served from this website, not from a third party, so visiting elora.is does not disclose your IP address to a font provider.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is live and for up to 24 months afterwards, so that we can pick up a discussion where it left off. After that they are deleted. Server logs are retained on our provider's standard schedule, typically a matter of days.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, or a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on legitimate interest, you may object to the processing. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Write to info@elora.is and we will respond within one month. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may lodge a complaint with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd), or with the supervisory authority in your own country.
Customer technical data
This notice covers the website only. Technical data exchanged with customers under an engagement — wiring manuals, load lists, modification records, fleet data — is governed by the agreement and data-handling terms of that engagement, not by this page.

If this notice changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
